It forces you to think. When you to think about the topic you are writing on. If you have been writing about water for the past few weeks like I have, you will find yourself thinking about the water situation throughout the day.
You take on a different viewpoint. While I have been writing about water, I have been looking at it from the people who live hear, who are trying to help, and I have heard from the bottled water companies. We see the problem or topic from multiple viewpoints.
You will be better at communicating verbally. When you write papers and blogs, you have practice in a way of talking to people. Even though you aren't actually there talking to them, you get practice taking to people that you may not even know.
John - I hadn't considered how working on this water topic for this length of time would actually give you "water on the brain," so to speak! But your thoughts are completely logical. I do have one question for you, however. I would love to know how you think good writing skills will be important in the profession you are considering for your life. Could you share please?
